About Me

Picture
I've been an avid photographer all of my adult life.  I purchased my first "serious" camera, a 35mm Minolta XG 1 in 1979 and began photographing parties, sporting events and the usual travel photos.  I remained what I like to refer to as an advanced snapshot photographer for many years.  That is I did little in the way of creativity, taking only high quality candid and travel snapshots.

I have been involved with sports all my life as a participant and as a coach.  In 2004 I began photographing local sporting events in which my kids participated.  Due to my familiarity of sports and my ability to figure out what all those dials and buttons on a camera do, the quality of my images were somewhat superior to those of the other parents with their point a shoots.  As a result I began receiving requests from people to photograph their local sporting events.

In 2008 I joined the Roswell Photographic Society (RPS) and began attending workshops, classes, monthly lectures, photo reviews, competitions and field trips with some of the best photographers in Georgia.  That allowed me to expand my skills into other areas such as architecture, landscape, portrait and event photography.

I served as Vice President of Programs for RPS. This allowed me to develop relationships with many nationally recognized photographers who have shared their talents and provided me photographic opportunities and advanced instruction, allowing me to further expand my skills as a photographer and a digital artist.

I believe strongly in giving back to the community and donate my services to the local newspaper the "Roswell Current", photographing charitable events like the Down Syndrome Buddy Walk, the Cystic Fibrosis Shamrockin' Event, the Roswell Public Library "Roswell Reads" event and photographing for the North Fulton Drama Club.
