I bought my first camera in 1980 or 1981. I've been an active photographer ever since. I moved to Atlanta in 1993 and have enjoyed the variety of photographic locations this part of the country has to offer. Mountains, lakes, waterfalls, old barns and farms and the Atlantic ocean and Gulf of Mexico are all just a few hours away. I started as a sports and landscape photographer, and I continue to shoot them on occasion, however, my other experiences include: local, college and professional sports, concerts, New York and Atlanta Fashion Weeks, commercial photography and publication in magazines and websites you may recognize. My current focus is photographing people and running my Portrait Photography Workshops. I'll be discussing these experiences in more detail in coming blogs. Enough about me, here's what this blog is about!
I'm a storyteller. Anyone who has ever worked with me will tell you I've mastered the art of talking while shooting. Many have suggested I need to share my stories. Portraits and Places serves to share my experiences in photography, share locations of interest and offer models some advice on dealing with photographers and agencies.
I am very much an advocate for models and I will share some experiences that may help them avoid uncomfortable situations, and grow their network. I plan to publish weekly, but if something worth sharing comes up sooner, I will post sooner.
I will be previewing updates on Facebook and Instagram. If there are topics you'd like me to cover I am open to suggestions, so send me a message or email [email protected] with suggestions.
Thank you for reading!
